St. George’s, 19 November 2008: The Drug Control Secretariat announces the Fifth Annual General Meeting of the Grenada Drug Information Network (GRENDIN)

The Drug Control Secretariat announces the Fifth Annual General Meeting of the Grenada Drug Information Network (GRENDIN), is scheduled to be on 11 December 2008, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Venue of the meeting is the Conference Room, Ministry of Education, Botanical Gardens, St. George’s.

The objectives of the meeting are:

  1. To review the activities of GRENDIN.
  2. To present statistical data on the GRENDIN Statistical report of Indicators, for the period              1st January 1988 to 31 December 2007.
  3. To present an update on the Multilateral Evaluation Mechanism (MEM).

     The highlight of the meeting would be a presentation by Mr. Darshan Ramdhani, Senior Crown Counsel, Ministry of Legal Affairs, on the subject, “Legal Implications For The Prevention And Control Of Illicit Traffic Of Pharmaceutical Products And Other Drugs Via The Internet in Grenada”. 

    Representatives from all Ministries/Institutions involved in the implementation of the national drug control programme, will participate in the meeting. GRENDIN is the National Observatory on Drugs in Grenada. It is the system through which Grenada coordinates the collection and dissemination of data information from all institutions involved in the area of drug control, and other relevant data. It was established by Cabinet in December 2002.
