St. George’s, Grenada, November 04, 2008_The Ministry of Education is pleased to announce that, Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons within the Teaching Service, to fill the vacant post of Principal, Grenada Boys’ Secondary School.

SUBJECT: ADVERTISEMENT FOR THE VACANT POSTS OF 

                    PRINCIPAL – GRENADA BOYS’ SECONDARY SCHOOL

 

Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons within the Teaching Service, to fill the vacant post of Principal, Grenada Boys’ Secondary School.

 

Qualifications and Experience

 

1.  At least a Bachelors Degree.

2.  Professional training in Educational Administration.

3.  10 years Experience as a Teacher.

4.  Training in Management.

5.  Experience as a Vice-Principal or Head of Department will be an asset.

 

Personal qualities and skills required for appointment

 

Applicants should have strong leadership qualities and the ability to foster and maintain good interpersonal relationships, have a positive attitude towards work, and an approachable personality.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

The duties and responsibilities of the post are as follows:-

 

    1.  The general management and supervision of the school including the

         following:-

 

             -  Instruction and discipline;

             -  Organization of classes;

             -  Accurate keeping of the school registers and other information

             -  Prescribed by the Regulations;

             -  Conduct of examinations (the questions and papers for which are to be

                 reserved for review by relevant officers of the Ministry of Education);

            -         Conduct yearly appraisal of teachers;

            -         Develop yearly school development plans.

                  

 

   2.  Maintenance/upkeep of all apparatus, furniture, equipment, textbooks and 

        material supplied by the Ministry.

 

   3.  Keeping accurate records of all receipts and expenditures connected with the

        operation of the school.

 

  4.  Submission of claims to the Ministry of the salaries of ancillary staff of the

       school, not later than the 5th day of the month for which they are made  

       payable.

 

  5.  Submission to the Ministry of monthly returns not later than the 5th day of the

       month following the month to which the information relates.

 

  6.  Submission of monthly school visit forms to the Ministry, not later than the 5th  

       day of the month.

 

  7.  Performance of other duties as may be assigned to him/her from time  to time  by the Chief Education Officer.

 

Salary

 

The salary attached to the post is at the rate of $35,796 per annum in the Grade I by incremental points to $50,808 per annum.
