Art Festival Preliminaries Results
Thursday 22nd November 2007. St. George’s. The Reno Cinema and Cultural Entertainment Centre was on Thursday 22nd November 2007, transformed into a Cultural Village where the sounds of sweet melodious voices of primary and secondary schools filled the air. The occasion was day two of the Festival of the Arts Competition.
Eight primary and four secondary schools competed for a place in the finals which is scheduled to take place on Wednesday 5th December 4:00 pm at the Grenada Boys Secondary School.
The schools included St. George’s Seventh Day Adventist Primary, St. George’s Anglican Junior, Concord Government, Bealieu R.C, J.W Fletcher Memorial, Woburn Methodist, Crochu R.C, Grand Anse Private Academy, Grenada Boys Secondary School, The Presentation Boys College, St. David’s Catholic Secondary School and Boca Secondary.
At end of the day St. Georges Seventh Day Adventist was on 80 points, St. George’s Anglican Junior 80 points, Woburn Methodist 79 points, J.W Fletcher Memorial 76 points, Concord Government 73 points, Grand Anse Private Academy 73 points. These schools all made it to the finals.
In the secondary schools category the finalists were St. David’s Catholic Secondary 78 points, Presentation Boys College 76 points and Grenada Boys Secondary 73 points.
On Friday 23rd November the secondary girls and mixed choirs will take centre stage at the same venue at 9:30 am and 11:30am respectively, fifteen schools will be participating in this event.
