A thorough assessment of the programme was conducted and the coordinators, centre administrators, facilitators, parents and the students themselves have realized that many students have benefited tremendously from the programme.
One student proudly mentioned that the programme has assisted her tremendously in her general academic achievements. This programme she stated earned her 1st and 2nd positions in her class and movement to the top stream of the next form.
These accomplishments have further been certified by classroom teachers to whom some centre administrators had the opportunity to converse with. As a result, all stakeholders are looking forward with great enthusiasm to the continuance, maintenance and resumption of the programme.
Because of such enthusiasm, the coordinators have taken the initiative to commence creative work on aids, puzzles and games in an attempt to continually supply the programme with motivational and fun-filled activities for the new academic term.
The Enhanced Learning program recognizes that the baseline for enhancement is the systematic awareness of the current learning experience of students, the standards of their achievement and the standard set by the very student.
A key aspect influencing the learning experience of students is the role-played by students themselves. Students are active partners with shared responsibilities for their own learning and achievement. The focus therefore is mostly on learning (and less on direct- teaching methods) during which student ownership of the learning process is developed. It provides minimum constraints on access, pace and method of study and at the same time allows students to share, discuss, ask, collaborate, teach and learn.
The programmes focus on enriching and enhancing students' ability in Reading and Mathematics and offers practical down-to-earth support for learning both Mathematics and Reading through its
