E.C. $2,689,662.69 for the Repair & Rehabilitation of Anglican High School
Friday 21st September 2007- St. George’s: A contract in the amount of E.C. Two million, six hundred and eighty nine thousand, six hundred and sixty two dollars, and sixty nine cents ($2,689,662.69) has been awarded to Classic Design & Construction Services for repair and rehabilitation of the Anglican High School.
The Anglican High School consists of six (6) blocks, Block A to F. The scope of work under this contract consists of repair and rehabilitation to Block A and Block B.
Block A consists of a reception area and two (2) store rooms. Works on this area are as follows:
• Installation of new doors and windows
• Installation of new galvanized roof sheeting
• Plumbing and electrical installation
• Painting (internal and external)
Block B consist of one staffroom, a toilet block with ten toilets, a home economic classroom and laboratory (kitchen), an auditorium area which includes 4 classrooms, and a back stage room with changing rooms. Works to this area are as follows:
• Construction of steel and concrete beams and columns to the class room section
• Construction of concrete roof slab to the class room section and new galvanized sheeting to other sections.
• Repair to block walls
• Installation of new toilets/sanitary fixtures
• Installation of new doors and windows
• Plumbing and electrical installation
• Finishing to walls, ceiling and floors
• Gas and furniture installation to home economic laboratory.
• Painting (internal and external)
Repair and Rehabilitation of the Anglican High School is expected to commence in October of 2007, with a duration period of nine months. This project is funded through financing obtained by the Government of Grenada from World Bank and European Union.
