GREP’S Hairdressing and Cosmetology Training Programme into its 13th week

Thursday 20th September, 2007-St. George’s: The Grenada Rural Enterprise Project’s (GREP) Cosmetology training programme is now into its 13th week, with participants practicing the fundamentals of hair cutting.

The programme is part of GREP’S capacity building for individuals in targeted communities. The goal of the programme is to provide interested persons with the skills that will allow them to go into business for themselves or to enhance their employment capabilities.

The extensive cosmetology course is being taught by prominent cosmetologist Mrs. Jennifer Simon Rapier at her premiere beauty Salon “A Cut Above”.

The 17 students have already received training in the areas of salon etiquette, hygiene and grooming, hair colouring, perm, shampooing, rinsing, hair relaxing and much more. The enthusiastic participants will move on to the rudiments of manicure and pedicure in the coming week.

This is the second time that the Grenada Rural Enterprise Project has offered the Hairdressing and Cosmetology programme to the Grenadian Public.
