Training Workshop/Camp For Science And Business Education Teachers And Students Of Secondary Schools
Wednesday 30th May, 2007- St. George’s: The National Science and Technology Council of Grenada in collaboration with the Ministry of Education will be hosting a training workshop/camp under the theme “GO CREATIVE”.
This workshop/camp will take place from 9th- 27th July, 2007 at the T.A. Marryshow Community College form 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
It will take the form of two (2) weeks formal training for teachers and one (1) week summer camp for teachers and students between the ages of 12-17 years.
The objectives are as follows:-
1. To train a cadre of teachers/facilitators to carry out creative workshops, camps and academies so that they can facilitate creativity camps and a young inventors competition among students 12-17 years.
2. To develop curricula and produce training materials which will help stimulate and develop student’s creative potential.
3. To expose participants to the inventive process, focusing them on the identification of opportunities for innovation and invention, as well as providing practicum in problem solving techniques and introducing them to intellectual property rights, marketing and entrepreneurship.
4. To engage participants in a summer camp that will enable them to participate in a regional young inventor’s competition.
