3640 students benefit from the 2006 Primary School Financial Assistance Programme

Three Thousand Six Hundred and Forty students representing more than Two Thousand Two Hundred and Fifty Four families have received assistance under the Government of Grenada’s Primary School Financial Assistance Programme.

The Programme is geared to assist the most needy students by providing assistance in the form of uniforms, books, and other necessities.

The programme which was initiated a decade ago with support from friendly governments continues to be a beacon of hope for parents who are unable to provide the tools for their children to learn.

In 2003 more than 2220 students were assisted at a cost of more than $400,000.00 ECD.

The Government of Grenada has been solely funding the programme since 2005. In 2005 more than 3000 students were assisted at a cost of more than $570,000.00 ECD.

This year is no exception with the total assistance reaching $604,600.00 ECD.
