TREE PLANTING DAY- September 22nd, 2008

St. George’s, Grenada, September 3, 2008_The Ministry of Education and the Grenada National Commission for UNESCO will organize a special day on the 22nd of September 2008. We will plant trees together with other schools around the world. The first trees will be planted at noon in Oceania. Following the Sun, new trees will be put on earth in Asia, Europe and Africa. Finally this chain of trees will reach the Americas. This event has become a success. Last year over 1000 schools in 102 countries planted tens of thousands of trees during the day. Read More...

The Government of Grenada is desirous of strengthening the planning and delivery of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) to make it more relevant to the needs of the society, in particular the private sector. Therefore, The GOG with the assistance of the WB is undertaking the setting up of an appropriate institutional framework. This includes (1) The Grenada Council for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (GCTVET) which will provide general policy direction and (2) An Agency which will be responsible for the planning and implementation of programs and projects.

NATIONAL SUMMARY DATA FOR JUNE 2008 CXC (CSEC) EXAMINATIONS

St. George’s, Grenada, August 25, 2008: A total of 3,327 candidates were registered to write CXC (CSEC examinations in May/June 2008. 1,899 were students attending schools and 1,428 were private candidates. There were 11,543 subject entries.
Overall there were 907 Grade one, 2,463 Grade two, 3,817 Grade three, 2,363 Grade four, 1,358 Grade five, 59 Grade six and 573 ungraded or absent.
