MINISTER FOR EDUCATION AND HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT WINS SEAT ON UNESCO’S EXECUTIVE BOARD
St. George’s Grenada – MOEPRU – Grenada has won a seat on the Executive Board of the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
Minister for Education and Human Resource Development, Senator the Honorable Franka Alexis Bernardine convincingly won the seat on Wednesday at the 35th session of the UNESCO General Conference.
UNESCO's Executive Board is the main decision-making body of the organization and Minister Bernardine says that she will use her position to advance the goals and ideals of UNESCO in all member states and, in particular, Small Island Developing States.
Grenada's candidacy was put forward earlier in the year by the Grenada National Commission for UNESCO - the local coordinating body for UNESCO in Grenada, with the approval of Cabinet.
