FAMILY VIRTUES WORKSHOP BEING HELD FOR HFLE TEACHERS
St. George, Grenada, June 26th, 2009 – The Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development is continuing to work toward ensuring holistic development of students.
2009 has been declared by the Ministry as Year of the Curriculum and this will involve the refocusing of the schools curriculum to include more targeted instructions in the area of Values and Moral Education.
The “Family Virtues Project”, which is part of the values project, is to be introduced at the primary level. In light of this selected teachers, (HFLE Subject Leaders) will receive training, as part of the first phase of orientation.
2 two-day workshops on the Virtues Project will be held in the month of July in preparation for implementation of the project at the start of the new school year.
The workshop dates are as follows:
- July 13th & 14th - 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. - Bain & Sons Conference Room, Grenville, St. Andrew: St. Patrick, St. Mark, St. John & St. Andrew
- July 16th & 17th – 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. – University of the West Indies, Marryshow House, H.A. Blaize St. St. George for teachers in St. David & St. George
At the end of the workshops, teachers will be expected to hold structured staff development sessions at their schools.
Lunch will be provided and transportation costs reimbursed for persons traveling outside of their school district.
